about

True Dark is the product of over a year of hard work, passion, and very, very little money from a scrappy group of imaginative, slightly rule-breaking filmmakers. After finishing with his MFA in Film Production at USC, writer/director E.C. Ryder began working a sales job to save up money, about twelve thousand dollars worth--money that was eventually used to produce the film.

A problem-solving producing partner, a terrific cast of actors, and a determined crew -- all taking pay cuts or no pay at all -- worked with E.C. Ryder  to create a testament to the enduring power of storytelling and passion over the limits of budget and experience.
